Higher education in France takes place in three different structures:

* Universities

Your regular campus, where you can study anything from humanities to computer sciences to medecine, from BA to PhD.

* Grandes Ecoles (elite schools)

Smaller than universities, the Grandes Ecoles are a French oddity. These are elite schools with a small number of students (usually a few hundreds) providing high-level education.
Grandes Ecoles usually cover specific areas especially:
- Engineering
- Business & Management
- Political Sciences

While these schools are viewed in France as higher-quality than universities, the degrees delivered are not always recognized abroad. We are here to check for you that a Grande Ecole delivers degrees with an equivalence abroad. They usually deliver a
Master's Degree in 5 years.

*Specialist schools

They cover a series of "non-mainstream studies":
- Cooking
- Arts & Photography
- Architecture
- Veterinary
...and more.

They usually deliver either specific degrees or 5-year degrees. Here again, be careful to choose a school that delivers degrees recognized abroad.
